Michael Yakutis, illustrator, spends about eighteen hours a day hunched over his desk. So, although he has the requisite pale skin of a Pacific Northwest hipster, he is far too socially deprived to comprehend Marisa’s pop culture references. Michael is drawn to the works of Dave Sim and Gerhard, Russ Heath, John Totleben, Steve Bissette, Alan Moore, Katsuhiro Otomo, Tim Sale, Jeff Smith, and Nell Brinkley.
Marisa Brenizer is a California girl who relocated to Seattle, where the dreary weather compromises her social life and vitamin D levels. She has discovered, however, that rain does wonders for writer’s block. How else can you while away the hours in horrible weather – especially when you don’t have cable? Aside from writing, Marisa spends her time reading, studying and practicing energy therapy, walking her furry babies, and watching movies. She is greatly inspired by vintage fashion and classic cinema.
