Nice perspective in those three panels. GMO is kind of a funny name for a market, though no worse than A&P, I guess. Is it one of those regional things? And no wonder Claire is buff! Lugging 50 lb boxes of produce all day does wonders for the physique. What I’m trying to say is, I can’t wait for the next episode!

“GMO Organic Foods” was the best oxymoron name I could think of for a grocery store. There’s been a bit controversy going on lately about Whole Foods selling foods with GMO ingredients in them, which completely destroys their image if you asked me. GMOs are a serious issue, but at the same time, it’s fun to make fun of health food stores.

As the daughter of a hardcore organic microfarmer who thinks big “organic” farms are cesspools of greenwashing, I approve of this sentiment.

GMO market, that is the most honest supermarket name ever. Meanwhile, Claire’s Chauvanist Piggy sense is tingling. Though admittedly, I loved being my own booth girl back in the day.

Okay, I just Googled “Booth Girl,” and, well, my head is reeling. I was being facetious about the GMO thing-I think it’s a great name for a grocery store. Though they did spell melons wrong…

Yep, that’s one mistake. And there’s another error that a poor sign-making clerk got 100 lashes for. Let’s just say that some people are very specific about their eggs.

And by sign clerk, she means illustrator. IE – me.
